Temperature controls are mounted in a separate 2-door enclosure. There is an Allen Bradley PLC to control all functions of the furnace. The PLC display board is flush mounted in the door of the enclosure, PLC power supply and input/output racks are mounted inside the cabinet. Heated section is divided into 3 zones of control. Three Robicon SCR power controllers regulate power to the heating elements through voltage reduction transformers. The SCRs and transformers are located under the furnace body. A separate atmosphere control panel houses the Nitrogen, Methane and Dissociated Ammonia flow meters.
Furnace is set up in a rectangle design. Work flows through the furnace and exit chamber with roller conveyor return. Ball screw pusher assembly pushes the ceramic composite plates through the kiln. Kanthal "Super 33" moly disillicide heating elements are located on both side walls. After the high heat is an 18" long insulated pre-cool section followed by a 7' long water cooled chamber then the exit chamber.
Cross exit pusher positions the plates to a return roller table that sends ceramic plates back to the load end. Nitrogen atmosphere curtains at both ends. Methane and DA are introduced at each end of the heat chamber. Atmosphere gas passes through a humidifier prior to entering the furnace. Flame curtains at each end.
